Architectural Excellence:
This 2007 Modular Building Institute First Place award winning
building system was designed by M Space Holdings to meet the
school district’s design requirements for flexibility by defining mobility of the units as a critical part of the program. With a need for 41,472 square feet of classroom space, the forty-eight (48) Type IIB Florida classrooms are consistent in appearance, finish, and functionality and can be moved throughout the district as population bases change.

Technical Innovation:
The “Plug & Play” system allows for portability of the building
units as needed throughout the district to react and solve
classroom shortfalls and other district wide needs. The standard
design allows for the district to plug them into whatever site
location they have prepared. The sites are prepped in advance,
and are also set up for readily accessible connection locations
for close circuit television (CCTV), fiber optics and security
systems, with everything easily hooked up when the modular
building arrive for placement.
Cost Effectiveness and Energy Efficiencies:
Utilizing the standard Type IIB structures with the forethought
of their possible reuse and portability makes this an extremely
cost effective solution for Clay County School District. The
ability to duplicate this type of relocation process for future
projects provides efficiencies that result in cost savings.
By choosing modular construction over traditional permanent
building specification, the Clay County School District was
able to create a plan for the future that gave them the ability
to react quickly and cost-effectively to changing classroom
needs throughout the district. |
