Illinois Congressman Hare, Illinois Senator Demuzio and M Space tour the newly installed Modular Complex at Community Unit School District #7 in Gillespie, Illinois.
On Monday, November 23, 2009, Congressman Phil Hare, Senator Deanna Demuzio, M Space Marketing Director, Nora McGrath and M Space Territory Manager, David Wahl were on site in Gillespie, IL to tour the newly installed Modular Classroom Complex. Benld Elementary School was in desperate need of a new facility after the mine underneath the school collapsed, resulting in the building being condemned. When the school was no longer accessible, the elementary school students and staff were relocated to the Gillespie Middle and High School Campus and the district was forced to finish the school year on a split-day schedule. The school district needed additional classroom and administrative space, fast. Congressman Hare helped the school district acquire federal funds for the lease of the modular complex.
Gillespie School District chose to work with M Space because they were able to provide all the classroom and office space the school district needed under one roof. The M Space modular complex provided the school district with a timely, cost effective and secure solution. M Space worked diligently to install the modular building as quickly as possible so the school district could return to normal school attendance during the 2009 school year.

Need: Reed School District had an entire campus destroyed by Hurricane Katrina and needed almost 50,000 square feet of modular space immediately.
Contract: M Space was solicited to provide 12 modular buildings including classrooms, administrate space, a food service building, a library, a media building, a staff lounge, a security building and restroom facilities. All buildings included fire alarm systems, public address systems, clock and bell systems, phones, cable and data systems. The scope of work included a loading dock, roadways and a parking lot along with covered walkways and canopies.
Unique Challenges: The entire area was hit hard by the hurricane taking down the infrastructure of the community. There were no hotels operating, no local suppliers for materials and access to the site was difficult. In addition, state offices were not fully operational to issue permits and perform inspections.
Solution: M Space built relationships and worked closely with the manufacturer to engineer buildings to meet all updated hurricane standards. The ground conditions were extremely poor and unstable, making typical set-up standards impossible. M Space partnered with the project engineer and state and local officials to come up with a creative solution. They designed a foundation that used reinforced wood, concrete and steel to provide proper support and compensate for poor ground conditions. M Space overcame all challenges and completed the project within 90 days, exceeding the expectations of the school officials and the state.

Need: Cameron Parish School District needed almost 70,000 square feet of space after buildings at two locations were severely damaged by Hurricane Ike. In addition, they needed the existing damaged buildings to be torn down and removed.
Contract: M Space was solicited to dismantle and remove the damaged buildings and provide ten replacement buildings, including classroom space, kitchen/café facilities and restrooms.
Unique Challenges: In addition to poor community conditions due to the hurricane, the project included two site locations with work to be performed simultaneously and completed within an extremely short time frame (60 days). An island community and above ground utilities posed some challenges.
Solution: To meet this strict deadline, M Space provided a combination of new and used buildings. While site work was being completed at two locations, four buildings were being refurbished to meet the specifications of the school district, while six were being built by a local factory. M Space recognized the urgency and scheduled an experienced Project Manager to be on site at each location to manage the day-to-day operations of each project.
