Case Study:
Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute, Tequesta, FL |
The Client:
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute (FWRI) is dedicated to protecting, conserving, and managing Florida’s marine and costal resources. This includes the assessment and restoration of ecosystems and studies of freshwater and marine fisheries, aquatic and terrestrial wildlife, imperiled species, and red tides. FWRI develops the information science required to analyze and disseminate research products. It engages in outreach activities to complement all programs. FWRI’s main field station is located in St. Petersburg, Florida.
The Need:
In June 2005, FWRI saw the need to add another field lab to its existing six laboratories. FWRI chose modular construction as the easiest and quickest solution to their space problem. Through the state bidding process they found a partner in M Space because it gave them the best product for the best price.
The Solution:
M Space provided, delivered and installed a 27.4’ x 65’ modular office space for the Tequesta field station. M Space worked hand-in-hand with the manufacturer and reviewed every detail of the construction process. M Space met the project’s challenge: the coordination between FWRI, the county and M Space.
The Result:
The double-wide modular field station provides offices for 10 to 14 scientists, along with an open space for meetings, a kitchen, and bathroom facilities.

The Testimonial:
“We were very satisfied with the results and with the building. It is up and running and in a decent amount of time we were able to get on with the work we have to do.”
