The Sheraton Broadway Plantation is a resort located across the street from Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Client Need:
The Sheraton Broadway Plantation needed to quickly install a sales presentation office for the timeshare program at their South Carolina resort location.
The M Space Solution:
An 1820 square foot building was designed with two private offices, a large showroom area and restrooms. A custom refreshment bar and stage podium with storage underneath were also included. The basic modules were delivered and taping and painting were completed on site. The stucco exterior finish was also completed on site in order to avoid cracking during transport from the factory. A freestanding canopy with a stucco finish was constructed at the front entrance. This exterior was designed to compliment the other resort buildings and landscaping provided the finishing touch.
Technical Innovation:
There are various technical aspects of the building that enable the staff to easily change the atmosphere in order to conduct the numerous presentations. As the lights are dimmed, the curtains automatically close, the cabinet that houses a large screen TV electronically opens and the presentation begins. All of this happening electronically alleviates the separate steps of closing curtains, dimming various lights and manually opening the cabinet before each presentation.
Cost Effectiveness/Energy Efficiency:
To control heating and cooling costs, insulated windows were installed throughout the building. With a delivery and installation push of 30 days, the building was delivered without the taping and stucco work done, so that costs would be controlled with regard to cracking and damage during transport. Modular construction was the most cost effective solution to the client needs and the only option available to meet their occupancy time-frame.
