Riley’s Tasty Dogs is a concession stand located in Douglas, Georgia.

Client Need:

The client was in need of a facility for its hot dog business and wanted a building that could be easily moved to a new location if the first did not prove profitable. They also needed the space to be constructed in just two weeks.

The M Space Solution:

M Space designed, manufactured and installed a 480 square foot concession stand in 14 days to meet the customer’s schedule for opening day. The exterior walls are stucco finished Hardi-panel with insulated 36” x 36” windows. The building has a handicap accessible ramp leading to a covered porch and a 19’ long counter with seating for outside dining. A 240V wall hung HVAC unit with a fresh air intake is on the back of the building, and a condensation drain runs through the exterior wall. The inside layout has work space, stoves, ice machines, ice cream freezers and a fountain drink machine. A floor drain is set in the tile floor for easy clean-up. Walls are vinyl covered gypsum and the ceiling is sprayed popcorn gypsum.

Technical Innovation:

The modular concession stand was designed to be easily relocated. If the business does not do well in the current location, it will be moved to a new location. The design planned for set-up and teardown possibilities, making modular an easy and inexpensive option.

Cost Effectiveness:

The fast turn around time on this building represents an enormous savings in terms of labor costs and construction time for this seasonal concession stand. It also allowed the client to open quickly and begin generating revenue sooner. Modular construction was the only option available that would meet the client’s need. A comprehensive design that anticipated relocation and factored in easy teardown and reassembly also created a project that would show significant savings in the future.
